Sexo-neologisms!

We can only be amazed at the number of neologisms, very often stemming from Anglicisms, neo-Anglicisms or cyber-neologisms, which dot the web, particularly in terms of sex, relational intimacy and the course of the immense pandemic which has just paralyzed humanity. Anglicisms, because (American) English is the predominant international idiom, especially on the Web.

In the decades following Western sexual liberation, mores have fundamentally changed as well as personalities and behavioral tendencies related to the liberalization of impulses. We thus encountered in the 90s what some qualify as socio-emotional categories: the cougar, mature woman eating men younger than herself; the metrosexual, male city dweller particularly concerned about his appearance in order to seduce; but also the retrosexual, which revisits the masculine by drawing inspiration from another era; and the sapiosexual, for whom, intelligence making sexy, is about being sexually attracted to charismatic people.

One can thus associate without limit the behavioral particularisms to define new categories which, by the amplifying game of Internet seem immediately majority by the easy adhesion to the neological propositions. The vege-sex is thus someone who can / want to have sex only with a VG (vegan) person. More connected than the hipster, cooler than the geek, the datasexual excessively shares its data on the net to attract all eyes. Should we thus get naked on the canvas to arouse interest? There was a time, that of eroticism, where the attraction arose from reserve, evocation, suggestion, partial disclosure.

The creation of certain neologisms leaves us all the same stunned as for example the discovery that I have just made of a new form of intimacy, self-sexuality, of which the press gives us definition: “A form of sexuality in its own right, tells us Cosmopolitan, which is based on self-desire. People with autosexuality experience excitement which is often accompanied by a feeling of love for themselves. We tell you more about this practice which questions more than one. This type of assertion leaves me completely interrogative. What about narcissism, auto eroticism, masturbation…? This explosion of novelties neglecting a look back, can only make one think of a Cancel Culture, or “call-out culture”, culture of cancellation of what is previous to allow a “sanitized” renewal. But can we speak of culture when we reproduce the same under another name? ” The people autosexuals therefore feel an attraction towards their own body. Some even speak of romansturbation to qualify a date with oneself. »Others still say self romanticism Where solo-gamie… To talk about self-interest and solo life. “Marriage with oneself,” continues another media, pmainly practiced by women and still called the union of self at self, has been around since the 90s and is attracting more and more self-sufficient people. “I discovered a little further, still on the net, a protest movement for the legalization of this” marriage with oneself “which already has the support of a deputy for a forthcoming bill. Further still, still on the net, a comment directs me to better understand two terms that I still did not know: “ For l’allosexuel and l’altersexuel, see the Wiktionary… ”Indeed, the Wiktionary teaches me thatallosexuel is the antonym ofself-sexual, that is, instead of “satisfying her sexual needs on her own, queer is a person who goes towards the other to fill them. The circle is complete, the horizon clears up, I begin to better understand the relationship to the other.

The myriad of new terms (and therefore as many behavioral and socio-affective categories) revealed by this short overview of the Internet is dizzying, commensurate with the liberation of representations and the infinite possibilities that the Web allows: the exchange of experiences, feelings, opinions. We really have to recognize that the Internet offers an enrichment of experiences that the restrictive societies, often restrictive, that are the traditions did not allow. To conclude, I keep the pearl – in my opinion – of these neologisms that are l’airgasme (recently entered in the Wiktionary: “Intense pleasure felt when faced with a sensation of increased quantity of air in the lungs”, initially “pleasure felt during a parachute jump thanks to the resistance of the air” but, by extension, “state of intense pleasure procured by the air felt after removing the mask”: you close your eyes, you inhale deeply and you have a airgasme !

We would love to thank the writer of this short article for this remarkable content
