FGE investigates teachers denounced for sexual abuse and harassment in Tijuana

Tijuana, May 6.- 10 investigation folders have been initiated in the months of April and so far in May, related to accusations of abuse and sexual harassment in the Cobach, Cecyte and Lázaro Cárdenas high schools, reported the Attorney General’s Office of the State (FGE).

The investigation of the complaints made by students against teachers of said schools is in process, and in the same statements are collected from the victims and work orders have been issued to the State Investigation Agency (AEI), in order to collect testimonies and indications that strengthen these folders.

Likewise, letters have been sent to the Directorate of Expert Services to obtain psychological opinions, necessary in the integration of the investigation folders, to determine the degree of affectation of the students by the behavior of the teachers.

In statements, the minors have indicated that teachers from the different high schools have referred to them with inappropriate, misogynistic comments, lewd looks, and there has even been physical contact, in certain cases.

“There are folders that already have advances in the investigation stage, related to the events of some of the schools in question: Colegio de Bachilleres El Florido, Cecyte Zona Río and Lázaro Cárdenas High School, in which there is already a report from the State Investigation Agencies, act of inspection of the facts, and individualization of designated teachers,” the FGE said in a statement.
